IPTV Smarters Pro is a free video player app for IPTV streams, made by the developer WHMCS Smarters. It comes with no channels: you enter login details from an IPTV provider you choose, and the app plays what that provider sends. To get the genuine app, check that the store listing names WHMCS Smarters as the developer.

Because the app has no channels, a first launch shows a login screen instead of a channel list. App stores also list many other apps with nearly the same name, so the developer line is what tells them apart. This guide covers what the app is, how to find the genuine one on your device, and what goes in the login fields.
What is IPTV Smarters Pro?
IPTV Smarters Pro is a player. It does the job a DVD player does for a disc: it shows what you put into it. The developer says so directly on its IPTV Smarters Pro listing in the Samsung TV app store: IPTV Smarters “does not supply or include any media or content.”
The same listing says the developer does not endorse streaming copyright-protected material without the holder’s permission.
Once you add a provider, the app gives you the tools to watch. The Samsung listing names the main ones:
- Xtream Codes API login, using the details your provider sends you
- EPG, short for electronic program guide, the on-screen TV schedule
- Parental controls to lock categories for younger viewers
- Multiple subscriptions saved in one app
So two common questions have short answers. Does IPTV Smarters Pro come with channels? No. Do you need a subscription? Yes, from a separate IPTV provider. If you are new to the idea of streaming TV over the internet, this guide to how IPTV works covers the basics first.
How to spot the real app among the lookalikes
Search any app store for “IPTV Smarters” and you will see several apps with almost the same name. The rule that works everywhere: check the developer name on the listing, not the app title. The official listings name the developer WHMCS Smarters.

Even the official listings do not always use the same title. The Samsung store carries one titled “IPTV Smarters Pro” and a second one titled simply “IPTV Smarters”, published by whmcssmarters and last updated on 25 October 2023. That second listing also states that the developer has no affiliation with third-party providers.
Google Play shows the problem clearly. At the time of writing, a Google Play search for “iptv smarters pro” returned more than 15 similarly named apps from many different developers, such as Tech Smarters, Corey Quinn, Lucky Virani and Logic Titans.
None of the visible results listed WHMCS Smarters as the developer. Store results change often, so read the developer line on whatever listing you find.
The Apple App Store has the same pattern. An app titled “IPTV Smarters Player – PRO” comes from a different developer, Svitlana Pavlova, and lists in-app purchases of $13.95 and $1.99. Nothing about that app is the problem. It simply shows that a familiar title tells you nothing about who made the app.
Websites can mislead in the same way. Some IPTV sellers run sites under domain names that borrow the app’s name. Those sites sell subscriptions, and they are not the developer.
Before you install, run through this quick check:
- Developer: the listing names WHMCS Smarters (or whmcssmarters).
- Disclaimer: the description says the app supplies no content of its own.
- Source: you are in an official app store, not on a download page.
- Promises: the listing does not offer pre-loaded channels. A listing that promises channels is not the developer’s.
Where to get IPTV Smarters Pro on each device
Where you find the app depends on your device, and on Apple devices it carries a different name. The table sums up what the store listings show.
| Device | Where to get it | Name on the listing | What to check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Samsung smart TV | Samsung TV app store | “IPTV Smarters Pro” or “IPTV Smarters” | Developer is WHMCS Smarters |
| iPhone, iPad | Apple App Store | “Smarters Player Lite” | WHMCS SMARTERS, iOS 15.6 or later |
| Apple TV | Apple App Store | “Smarters Player Lite” | WHMCS SMARTERS, tvOS 12.0 or later |
| Android phone, Android TV | Google Play | Many same-name apps | Developer must read WHMCS Smarters |
| Amazon Fire TV | See our Firestick guide | Varies by model | Some models have limits |
| Windows, Mac | See our desktop setup guide | Varies | Use an official source |

Samsung and LG smart TVs. Samsung owners can install either of the two official listings above from the TV’s app store. An official listing from the same developer in LG’s store is not confirmed, so check the developer name carefully there. For other options on these TVs, see our roundup of IPTV apps for Samsung and LG TVs.
iPhone, iPad and Apple TV. On Apple devices the developer publishes the app as Smarters Player Lite. It is free, with an optional in-app “Premium” upgrade for $1.99. It needs iOS 15.6 or later on iPhone and iPad, or tvOS 12.0 or later on Apple TV, and it supports M3U and other standard playlist formats.
Its listing says it “does not provide, host, sell, or promote any media content, TV channels, or streaming services.” If you want to compare it with other choices, we cover IPTV players for Apple TV separately.
Android phones and Android TV. Use Google Play and check the developer name, as described in the section above. If you ever install an app file from outside the store, keep Google Play Protect switched on. Google says Play Protect checks your device for potentially harmful apps from other sources, not only apps from the Play Store.
Windows and Mac. Desktop setups work differently from TV and phone apps. Our guide to setting up IPTV on Windows or Mac walks through the options.
Amazon Fire TV. Installing the app on a Fire TV device depends on which model you own, and some newer models have limits. Rather than repeat it here, our IPTV Smarters Pro Firestick guide explains which models work and how to set it up.
Logging in: Xtream Codes or an M3U playlist
The first time you open the app, it asks for login details. Those details come from your IPTV provider, usually in a welcome email after you pay. The app itself never supplies them.
Xtream Codes login uses three fields:
- Server URL: the server address in your provider’s email or account area
- Username: the username your provider gave you
- Password: the password your provider gave you
Copy each one exactly as sent. If you are wondering where to find the server URL, the answer is always your provider’s email or account page, never a public list online.
M3U playlist login uses a single playlist link from your provider instead of three fields. Both methods reach the same account, so use whichever your provider sends. Our comparison of M3U vs Xtream Codes explains the trade-offs in full.
If the login fails, start with the simple checks. Make sure you typed each detail exactly as sent, and confirm your subscription is still active. If it still fails, contact your provider’s support team, because they can see whether your account is working on their side.
First checks after you log in
Once you are in, a few things are worth checking in the first few minutes. Each one has its own guide if something looks wrong.

- The TV guide is empty. The guide data comes from your provider, not from the app. If the guide stays blank, here is how to fix an empty TV guide.
- Streams buffer or freeze. Pauses mid-show can come from your connection, your device or the provider’s side. Our guide on how to stop IPTV buffering works through each cause in order.
- Your connection speed. PlayTVX advises at least 15 Mbps for HD and 25 Mbps or more for 4K. A speed test takes a minute, and our page on the internet speed you need for IPTV explains what the numbers mean.
If children use the same TV, set up the app’s parental controls now rather than later. They let you lock categories you would rather younger viewers did not open.
Is IPTV Smarters Pro safe and legal to use?
The app itself is a player from a named developer, offered through official app stores. Downloading it from the official store listing is the safe route.
The risk sits in two other places. The first is lookalike or modified versions from unofficial download sites. The second is what you stream through the app.
In a May 2019 consumer alert on malware in illegal streaming apps, the Federal Trade Commission warned that people who download illegal pirate apps or add-ons are likely to download malware too. That malware can spread to other devices on the same home network. The FTC’s advice was blunt: don’t watch pirated content.
On legality, the player is ordinary software. Whether a given stream is legal depends on whether the provider holds the rights to show it. The developer makes the same distinction in its Samsung listing, where it says it does not endorse streaming copyright-protected material without permission.
Before you subscribe anywhere, check what rights the provider says it holds and what the law where you live allows. This article is not legal advice.
Choosing a provider to use with the app
The main point to take away: IPTV Smarters Pro is the screen, and the channels come from a provider you choose. The app works the same whichever provider you pick, so the choice comes down to the service behind it.
A provider that suits this app should:
- support Xtream Codes or M3U logins, so the details work in the app
- send your login details clearly, in writing
- offer help with setup if something does not connect
- be clear about what it carries and what rights it holds
If you are still deciding on the player itself, see how Smarters compares with TiviMate and XCIPTV.
PlayTVX is one provider that works this way. After checkout, PlayTVX emails your login details and setup instructions, and you enter them in a compatible player such as IPTV Smarters Pro. The app is an independent product, and it is not owned by or affiliated with PlayTVX.
You can compare the PlayTVX subscription plans, or start with a 24-hour trial for $1.99 to test the app with real credentials before you commit.
Already know which length suits you? Choose a plan and your login details arrive by email, ready to enter in IPTV Smarters Pro.
